It is hard to believe that fall is here and the colder weather has started. It is time to plan all the yard clean up and garden clean up that is needed so there is not as much work in the spring. So plan out your days to make it easier. Depending on the size of your yard you may be able to do this quickly or perhaps you have a larger yard and it will take a few days to get things cleaned up. Here is my yard clean up plan that I have already started.
Day one - go get yard waste bags from the store and work gloves if you don't already have them.
- clean up front yard garden/s, remove weeds, dried plant stalks, fallen branches and leaves
- rake wastes from garden into a pile and bag it.
- plant spring bulbs if you have any
Day two - continue cleaning front yard by raking leaves and side yard on either side of house.
- bag all raked up piles
Day three - work on cleaning out vegetable garden and bag waste
Day four - clean out back yard garden and bag waste
Day five - rake back yard and bag waste.
Day six - move all waste bags to front yard for pick up on the day assigned for yard waste pickup.
I am lucky because I have a large yard and it usually takes me a solid week to get everything done. I break up each day and try to do one area at a time so I don't get overwhelmed. Many people have small yards so it takes less time. But for those of you who have moderate to large yards it's always best to plan your yard cleaning so you don't get overwhelmed and you don't get too sore from working muscles you forgot you had.
