Does that me we can't make good decisions under stress. NO! As nurses we make many life and death decisions on a daily basis. But the way we think at work is not necessarily the way we think when we are at home. When we have big decisions take the time to look at all the angles. Talk to someone who is outside the situation. We do this at work all the time, asking our co-workers for there input. We can do this in our personal lives too.
Take the time to get away from a situation if you can, and relax or sleep on it. You will know what to do and be able to make a plan for the best outcome.
