Wow, does that say it all!
I have worked in the medical profession for almost twenty years and I have seen some amazing things, as well as heart wrenching and awful things that happen to average everyday people. I've worked in trauma ER, cath labs, CCU, PACU and ICU. The one thing that I have learned is that people are resilient and if you put your mind to accomplishing a goal you will achieve it.
Making a lifestyle change is scary, hard and at times overwhelming. That is why you have to take each day as it comes. One day at a time, sometimes it's one minute or one hour at a time. No one is perfect. No one has all the answers. But there is help out there if you ask for it. I know myself well enough now that I need regular encouragement to get through workouts and eating healthy. Do I fall off the proverbial 'waggon'? Absolutely. But just because I stumble doesn't mean that I quit trying. To help myself stay on track with exercise I joined challenge groups on Facebook. This keeps me accountable not only to myself, but to those who are working just as hard to get healthy. I can win any battle, I just have to believe that I can. If I can do that, so can you. Winners are people who keep trying, that never give up. They reach for the stars and beyond even though they know they know they might not get there but they try anyway.
All you have to do is try, one minute, one hour, one day at a time and you will reach that goal that you thought was unattainable.
