Did you know that relaxation helps with the prevention of strokes. One study from 2007 and another from 2011 showed that those individuals who handle higher stress lifestyles well, will have a reduced likelihood of having a stroke. Thus relaxation is beneficial. Studies also show that exercise, eating healthy and engaging in positive outlets for stress reduces the chance of a stroke.
Relaxation techniques can be used to help control anger, many individuals with anger management issues have an increased risk of stroke two times higher than the average person. So make sure you take the time to relax and enjoy life.
What are you doing today or this week to relax? Are you spending time on your own, with friends or with family? Think about the last time you really relaxed and unwound. Write about what you did in your inspiration journal. Then write how you can find ways to relax at home or at work that are similar to the feelings and activities you did before. Is there a way you can incorporate relaxation into your everyday life? Do you have 15-30 minutes that you can set aside for yourself? Are you not worth the time?
